Jon has worked as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Harrogate since 2006. His specialty interest in Hip and Knee Surgery has enabled him to gain experience by performing large numbers of Joint Replacements and ‘keyhole’ or Arthroscopic Surgeries each year.
Jon enjoys the practice of ‘Revision’ or ‘Re-do’ joint surgery. This involves replacing the old worn out hip with a new one. Often severe bone loss, fractures, recurrent dislocation or infection have to be overcome. Mr Conroy believes the difficult challenges of ‘Revision’ surgery has also given him the necessary skills to ensure good outcomes in first time Hip/Knee replacements.
Jon is Fellowship trained in Hip & Knee Surgery (Harrogate 2004, Brisbane 2005) and completed a MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Leeds in 2006 and he has been involved in Orthopaedic Implant Design since 2008. Mr Conroy was the Clinical Director for Elective Services 2012-2015.
Throughout his career Jon has been an active member of several committees and associations including The Royal College of Surgeons Quality Assurance Advisory Panel, The Department of Health Orthopaedic Standards Working Group and The Royal College of Surgeons Inspections Review Group.
