Harrogate businesses urged to gear-up for success at world cycling roadshow

HARROGATE businesses can learn how to make the most of one of the biggest competitive cycling events in the world when it comes to Yorkshire this year.

A series of roadshows has been launched throughout the Harrogate district to help businesses maximise opportunities from the UCI Road World Championships. The sporting spectacle will bring the world’s top teams to Yorkshire, and Harrogate will host the finishing line for each day of the competition in September.

The business roadshows will feature members of Yorkshire 2019 – the committee responsible for local organisation of the event, Harrogate Borough Council and PR company Cicada Communications which will be hosting marketing masterclasses.

Graham Swift, Cabinet Member for Resources, Enterprise and Economic Development at Harrogate Borough Council, said: “We are delighted and very proud to be hosting one of the world’s biggest sporting events. Our goal is to assist as many local businesses as possible to join in and enjoy the benefits of Harrogate being on the global stage.

“Our business roadshows will provide everything you need to know along with inspiration and tips to ensure that your company can make the most of this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

30 April: Council Chamber, Pateley Bridge 6pm 1 May: Ripon Community House, Ripon 8.30am 8 May: Hotel du Vin, Harrogate 11.30am 14 May: Henshaws Arts & Crafts Centre, Knaresborough 4.30pm 21 May: Ripon Community House, Ripon 4.30pm
