The director of Harrogate Convention Centre and other senior
managers will put themselves before the town’s business community next month at
a ‘Question Time’ session at the venue.
The event, called Engage
With Your Convention Centre, takes place on July 27th and will see Simon Kent
open up the floor to questions on the venue’s short and long-term business
strategy, as well as its place within the local economy.
“Our business is a vital cog in the town’s economic success,”
he said, “but there is a symbiosis between the Convention Centre and the other
businesses in town.
“We want Harrogate to be the home of events but we rely on the
town’s great range of hotels, shops and restaurants to make it an attractive destination
to the hundreds of thousands of business visitors our venue brings in each year.
“Myself and fellow senior managers from the centre are
hoping to see a good turn-out of business owners and managers from sectors such
as hospitality, accommodation, travel and those involved in the night time

continue to ensure Harrogate remains an attractive prospect for business and
The Engage event follows a busy first quarter for the
Convention Centre. The business underwent a rebranding and name change in April,
along with a new website developed by Harrogate-based Extreme Creations.
The business has also assembled a group of influential
Ambassadors to promote the venue as a location for conferences and exhibitions.
The Ambassadors include Jean MacQuarrie, editor of The
Harrogate Advertiser, who will chair the event.
Engage With Your
Convention Centre takes place at 6pm on Thursday, July 27 in the Kings
Suite at Harrogate Convention Centre.

to the panel on the night.
