A NEW consumer travel show positioned to inspire, educate and excite people to go on wildlife, safari and conservation holidays will return to Harrogate Convention Centre after the success of the first event in September.
Converge Exhibitions, organiser of the Wildlife & Safari Travel Show, has confirmed the show will return to the North Yorkshire venue in 2019 with the intention of growing a new audience focused on this type of travel, outside of London.
Show director, Chris Erasmus said: “We know that people are getting more creative with their choices of holiday destination and their desire for a more meaningful experience.
“At The Wildlife & Safari Travel Show we will provide all of the experts under one roof, with the knowledge, facilities and interactive features to help would-be travellers plan a really exciting wildlife, safari or conservation holiday. “
Recent high-profile wildlife shows and documentaries have shown the devastating effects of pollution, such as waste plastic, on wildlife and the environment. Chris believes there is a growing market for travellers who want adventure holidays while acknowledging the fragile ecologies of the destinations.
He added: “The next big thing is going to be the BBC’s major new wildlife show, Dynasties, which will see David Attenborough following the lives of five members of an endangered species and portraying their place in the environment and their day-to-day interactions.
“People are watching these incredible shows and they want to get involved, see these amazing creatures in their own habitat and visit these exceptional places. We offer everything they need to make that a reality in a way that is respectful to the wildlife and the environment.
“We will definitely be back in Harrogate next year with the Wildlife & Safari Travel Show on the 12-13th October 2019.”
Rebecca Turnbull, Sales Manager at Harrogate Convention Centre, said: “Converge Exhibitions has hit on something huge here. The first event, which ran over the weekend of September 29 and 30 at the Convention Centre, was a real spectacle with travel experts and companies from around the globe.
“We have a great track record in Harrogate of nurturing major lifestyle events and it’s great that the team behind the Wildlife & Safari Travel Show is set to establish this event at the Convention Centre for the foreseeable future.”
