Mendelssohn - Elijah, Harrogate Choral Society
Royal Hall -
Saturday 10th March
Elijah was one of the important Biblical prophets, who lived in the 9th Century BC during the times of King Ahab and his wicked queen Jezebel. Elijah is regarded by all faiths (Jews, Christians, Muslims and Druze) as a healer, a miracle maker, and a great hero who stood against the might of Kings and false prophets.
Harrogate Choral Society performed Elijah as the first concert of the formally formed Society in 1948. This concert, which celebrates out 70th Anniversary, will be the tenth time we have sung it and we are delighted to be joined by Samantha Hay, Soprano; Gaynor Keeble, Mezzo Soprano, Luke Sinclair, Tenor; and Alex Ashworth, Bass Baritone. We will be accompanied by the Amici Ensemble and conducted by Andrew Padmore.
