Convention Centre Director
Born and schooled in Harrogate, Simon gained venue management experience in Birmingham, Edinburgh and Glasgow before returning to Harrogate as technical manager in 2004. Since becoming Director in 2013 he has driven the business forward putting the customer at the centre of everything we do.
Head of Sales and Events
Brian heads up our sales and event planning teams after joining the Convention Centre in August 2016. His experience includes working in both event agencies and venues having led projects in the UK, Europe, North America, Middle East and South East Asia.
Claire leads our commercial team which manages a wide range of financial and commercial activities. She has been with us since 2008 and brings a wealth of experience in financial roles in other sectors held before joining the Convention Centre.
Venue Services Manager
Robert joined the team in 1990 from a strong background in hospitality and is responsible for front line services across the site. He also leads the customer services function, helping to shape future customer focussed developments.
Building Services Manager
With an electrical engineering background and previous industry experience Wayne joined us in 2015. He leads our Building Services team which is responsible for maintenance and building projects across the Convention Centre estate.
Front of House Manager
Andy has been responsible for Front of House operations at the Convention Centre since 2016 having joined in 2007 when he was initially responsible for the Sun Pavilion and Royal Hall. He spent his early events career in hospitality after eight years in the armed services.
